Auburn University takes Swine Flu precautions

Auburn University received intranasal vaccines for the H1N1 virus about three weeks ago, and the Auburn University Medical Clinic is encouraging students, faculty and dependants to get the vaccine this week.

“The response for college-age people is over 85 to 90 percent,” says Dr. Fred Kam, medical director for the Auburn University Medical Clinic.

The next H1N1 clinics are today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the R.B. Draughon Library, and Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Magnolia Hall in the Vill… Continue

Auburn Lines Up Against Hunger

On “National World Hunger Day,” the “Committee of 19” and the Woman’s Resource Center combined efforts to raise awareness for hunger-related issues for “Line up. Stand up. Speak up…Against Hunger: A Women’s Issue.”

The Auburn University Women's Resource Center’s mission is “to serve as a centralized hub of information and resources for Auburn's campus on women's initiatives, programs, and issues.”

Soaring to New Heights

On Dec. 15, 2008, a press conference was held announcing Gene Chizik as Auburn University’s head football coach. It was then that Chizik addressed the Auburn faithful with a strong promise: “We’re going to recruit tirelessly, 24-7. We’re going to work.”

Less than a year later, the Auburn Tigers are 3-0. This new spirit, taken by Chizik, has been paying dividends.
