The Auburn University Modeling Board and Auburn Nights will present the “Winter Fashion Show” next Thursday, Nov. 12, at 8 p.m. at the Greystone Mansion. For the first time, the proceeds from the “Winter Fashion Show” will be donated to a charitable fund.

Members of the modeling board will model clothes from different stores in Auburn, including many of the downtown boutiques and Kinnucan’s.

The Jay Sanders Film Festival is coming to Auburn, Ala., on April 15, 2010. The festival, named for Auburn University professor Jay Sanders, is an opportunity for both college and high school students around the nation to have their films reviewed and judged, and to hopefully win some cash on the side.

The leaves are falling as the cool weather sets in, welcoming the “Lee County Fair” back to town. The 2009 “Lee County Fair,” located at the Lee County Fairground on LaFayette Parkway past Southern Union State Community College, opened Tuesday and will entertain attendees through Saturday.

Auburn closed out the “Auburn Soccer Classic” with a 3-2 win against Texas Tech Sunday afternoon. Rebecca Howell’s goal with 12:58 remaining in the game sent Auburn home with a victory and a loss for the weekend.

Following a 2-1 loss to Missouri on Friday night, the Tigers returned with an intense and physical 90 minutes of play on Sunday.

“We came out with intensity,” said senior Caitlin King. “We had something to prove and wanted to come out with a win for the weekend.”
