Meat is out. Veggies are in.

Diets come and go. There was the no carb diet, the all carb diet, the sugar-free diet and too many others to name. And with every diet is a new book. Each tends to start a movement toward whichever lifestyle the author recommends. As of late, vegans have become the new trend.

Border bound? Think again.

Students sometimes start planning Spring Break vacation months in advance. So, why after searching for flights, hotels and excursions would groups of college students cancel their plans? How about drug turf wars?

How to make the most of your income

Mom and dad’s basement is looking more appealing these days. As many recent and soon-to-be college graduates are still searching for jobs, it seems almost impossible to afford living on your own. Or, for those fortunate enough to have found employment, the fear of losing it is spurring fiscal conservatism.

Generation-Y is more aware of financial decisions than ever before. Dr. Gary Waters, the associate dean of the College of Business at Auburn University, stresses the importance of establishin… Continue

A world without waiters

It wasn’t the best start to the new year. Employees of the Colonial Mall Ruby Tuesday gathered for a staff meeting. The news was bad. The store would be one of more than 70 Ruby Tuesday restaurants to close beginning this year.

About 20 of the 50-60 Ruby Tuesday employees were transferred to the other Ruby Tuesday on south College, but others were left to find work elsewhere. Those having worked for the restaurant for more than a year were offered a severance package.

“They told us the lease w… Continue
