Hidden Opportunities

Looking through www.wareagle.me, there seems to be a lack of public relations practitioners that have graduated from Auburn University. I personally know an Auburn University graduate that practices public relations that is not a member of www.wareagle.me.

I think her lack of membership comes from the fact that she graduated with a degree in Marketing instead of Public Relations. But Sharon Whitaker picked up an interest in public relations early on in her career and currently handles the publi… Continue

Flavored Ice Finally Back

Although the Alpha Psi Rodeo stole the attention of the majority of the students of Auburn University, the reopening of SnowBiz was an occasion to be treasured.

Many people anxiously await the reopening of SnowBiz on April 1 after the sad closing at the end of the summer. And this year was no different. Auburn rejoices as warm weather rolls in with the first round scoop of flavored ice.

Ashley Miller, a junior in nursing, said, “Some of my friends started a Facebook event just because they wer… Continue

Baked Goods for the Bar Crowd

As people were doing laps in the Coliseum for Relay for Life, another team was selling baked goods on Toomer’s Corner to raise money for the cause.

Shannon Polkowski was in charge of heading up this team from the Auburn Christian Student Center. She has been talking to people all semester about being a part of a team and raising money for Relay for Life, but no one seemed to be able to do it.

“It was really frustrating,” Polkowski said, “I asked everyone I knew, but most people were already bu… Continue

Alternative Spring Break Inspires Auburn Students

Spring Break is usually a time for college students to run wild down at the beaches of Panama City Beach, Fla. and Cancun, Mexico. These kids party all day and all night, indulging in selfish pleasures that are probably not remembered in the morning.

But for a college ministry at Auburn University, another type of Spring Break peeked its interest. A number of students from the Auburn Christian Student Center opted to venture to the rural mountains of Honduras to lend a helping hand.

They went… Continue

AUM Nursing School is a Great Option

Hundreds of students come to Auburn University with the hopes of becoming a nurse, but that dream is only a reality for some. The nursing school at Auburn is very competitive and only a fraction of the people who apply get accepted.

The problem is that these students are all in pre-nursing, but the college does not have the money to accept them all into the program. So they must become very selective and take only the best of the best since the program is so grueling.

Last spring application s… Continue
