Patricia DeBow Gold and Silver Exchange Opens on Gay Street

The Gold and Silver Exchange store located at 219 N. Gay St. opened on Oct. 19. The sole purpose of this store is to buy used gold and silver items from customers. The owner, Pat Reno, is not new to the business world in Auburn. In 1980, she and her husband opened the first pawn shop in the city. The shop was located on College Street in the downtown area.

Hillary Gibbs Life After Auburn

Kati Jones Auburn's Newest Fraternity Strives for Excellence

On Oct. 27, Phi Sigma Kappa, or “Phi Sig,” became the 28th fraternity on Auburn’s campus. Kelsey  Ware Winter Fashion Kicks Off Next Thursday

The Auburn University Modeling Board and Auburn Nights are proud to present the Winter Fashion Show on Nov. 12 at 8 p.m. at the Greystone Mansion. For the first time, the proceeds from the Winter Fashion Show will be donated to a charitable fund. Members of the modeling board will model clothes from different stores in Auburn, including many of the downtown boutiques and Kinnucan’s.

The Bike Shop, located in downtown Auburn, offers weekly rides for bikers who like to hit the trails with other bike enthusiasts. Caroline Cassidy Auburn University takes Swine Flu precautions

Auburn University received intranasal vaccines for the H1N1 virus about three weeks ago, and the Auburn University Medical Clinic is encouraging students, faculty and dependants to get the vaccine this week. “The response for college-age people is over 85 to 90 percent,” says Dr. Fred Kam, medical director for the Auburn University Medical Clinic. Elizabeth Mahaney Professional Pumpkin Carving

Last Friday, Auburn's School of Architecture hosted its 20th annual Pumpkin Carve in the courtyard of Dudley Hall. Rebecca Bedsole Auburn- More Than Just a University

Stephanie Bivins Lee County's Historical Fair

The Lee County Historical Fair takes place once a year in Loachapoka, which is right across the street from the Syrup Soppin’ festival. The Historical Fair has been going on for 38 years. The purpose of the fair is to bring together the community for a Saturday of fun, food and history, while raising money. John Roberson Pose as Captain Morgan to win a foosball table

Mary Beth Walton Keeping AU Students Safe: Cyber Security Awareness Month

October is Cyber Security Awareness month for Auburn University. Anna Tucker Walk for a wish

Chi Omega is preparing to host its annual Walk for a Wish. It will be held on November 8th at 2:30 p.m. at Town Creek Park on South Gay Street. Each fall Chi O, a sorority at Auburn University, plans a walk to benefit the Make a Wish Foundation of Alabama. Patricia DeBow Relay for Life Hosts "Save Your Balls" Dodgeball Tournament

On October 15, Auburn University’s Relay for Life held a dodgeball tournament at Parkway Baptist Church to raise money for The American Cancer Society. The tournament is the first of several fundraising events that will lead up to the kickoff of Relay for Life on November 12.
