The James I. Harrison School of Pharmacy is the oldest professional school on Auburn’s campus. Established in 1885, it is the only public pharmacy school in Alabama and the only school to offer a graduate program. The Special Olympics is a nonprofit athletic program with many chapters all over the United States. Today, I was able to watch the Special Olympics gymnastics meet held by the Lee County chapter of Special Olympics.
Many different teams attended the meet including teams from Mobile, Ala., Auburn and Birmingham. Athletes ranged from age 8 to approximately 30 years old. The gymnastics meet today let athletes participate in multiple routines consisting of hula hoops, balls and ribbons.

Auburn University’s new student recreation center will proceed as planned since Auburn students voted yes in the referendum vote February 12, 2009. Seventy-four percent of students said yes to fund the new student recreation center.
