Auburn University's annual A-Day Game is fast approaching. The Tigers will hit the field on Saturday, April 18 , at 1 pm. Fans are anticipating this game as a foreshadowing of next season.

The Tigers have gone through a lot of changes this year as they have implemented a new coaching staff. Auburn suffered a tragic season in 2008 and have done all in there power to regain their status as one of the top teams in the South Eastern Conference.

Auburn University reached out to a previous defensive coordinator to come back to the Auburn Family and lead the Tigers as head coach. Gene Chizik (DC) left Auburn after their undefeated season in 2004 to go to take a spot as defensive coordinator at the University of Texas. He then took the head coaching position at Iowa State University.

Auburn hired Coach Chizik to succeed Tommy Tuberville, who resigned after his tenth season. Chizik has a different coaching style than Tuberville did and the teams to have adjusted well thus far.

T'Charvan Bell, known by the coaches and players as "T-Bell," has a good vibe about the changes in the team and is looking forward to his first A-Day Game.

"I'm a redshirt freshman," said Bell . " So this is my first A-Day, and I am really excited about getting into the Auburn football spirit and letting the fans see all we've been working on."

Bell plays defensive back and will be filling some big shoes next year.

"We're going to be good next season, cause we didn't lose too many key players in the draft," said Bell. "Jerraud [Powers] went though and we'll miss him. Huh, I play his position."

Bell and the rest of the team have high expectations for the next Auburn season.

"This team is more competitive and we are going to be better across the board ," said Bell. "The offense as a whole has a different look. Look to see a lot of big plays and a lot of celebration about the team.. a fast tempo, ya know . "

From the players standpoint, it seems as if Chizik is about building better players as well as building men.

"Coach says we 'haven't arrived yet,' he's really into building our teams chemistry back," said Bell.

Not many predictions have been made about the 2009 football season, it's still rather early and too soon to tell anything. By the looks of it thus far, football fans are alluding to Auburn's confidence sarcastically. Yet, this hasn't shaken Auburn fans good attitude- isn't that always the case though?

Regardless of what happens come August 2009 Auburn fans are eager to see what the Tigers will do at the A-Day Game.

"I'm excited about the change on coaching," said avid Auburn fan Eric Pasch. "It seemed to me like we were getting a bit stale and I'm excited about seeing a fresh team."

Join the Tigers on Saturday, April 18, at 1 p.m. at Jordan-Hare Stadium to preview the team for the 2009 season.
