Ulta Beauty has just opened a store at Tigertown last Monday, April 13 feeling that a growing area such as Auburn-Opelika needed this kind of beauty store.

Ulta is the largest beauty retailer in the United States that combines the best of three worlds - a salon, department store and drug store under one roof.

Since Ulta is a chain beauty store, the Tigertown location is run by more than one manager. Alicia Deas, one of those managers, says that Ulta opened because Auburn is a growing college town and didn’t have any kind of store like this.

“We’re the only actual beauty supply store that you can get pretty much everything at,” Deas said.

Ulta offers products in different categories such as fragrance, skin health, make up collections, professional hair care, styling tools, hair color, cosmetics, body care and accessories. Ulta has aisle after aisle of name brand products, some that you can get at places such as Wal-Mart, but other products that you cannot get at general retail stores.

“Our prices are lower than at Wal-Mart, and we carry high-end make up like Bare Escentuals at a cheaper price too.” Deas said.

Ulta also has an in-store salon that offers facials, waxing, highlights and more services at very reasonable prices.

The staff at Ulta is very friendly, professional and offers to help you find exactly what you need as soon as you walk through the doors.

Currently, Ulta is offering many free items with the purchase of certain products, such as a free summer tote with the purchase of a fragrance. Also, all of the professional hair products are buy two get one free.

Ulta is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Ulta is located between Dick’s Sporting Goods and Alumni Hall in Tigertown Shopping Center, in Opelika, Ala.
