Off Shore Drilling

Off-shore drilling This is a major topic in our upcoming elections and I’m not sure how I feel about it. Side 1: I don’t want to depend on foreign oil anymore. I want to get out from under the control of major oil companies and don’t want to give them my support. Side 2: I don’t want to ruin any more pure land with man-made construction. There are very few beautiful areas untouched by man anymore and I don’t want to ruin the land for the creatures who live there. It’s a long time before any deci… Continue

What does your hair say about you?

Who does your hair make you? Short, long, brown, blonde, up, down, bob, pixie, mullet... What does your hair say about you? Hair is such a fabulous thing. It can change your look completely, make you stand out in a crowd or make you stand apart from the crowd. There are so many different things to do with your hair that you have a never ending array of possibilities for what you want to be. If I had long blonde hair with amazing body and wave, I would feel like a completely different person than… Continue

Overworked?

I was talking with a friend of mine the other day who is an engineering major at Auburn. He was telling me that he hasn't slept well in days and that he just isn't feeling like himself because of stress. He told me that he felt like the work load given to him by his professors was overwhelming and not to mention unthoughtful of his other classes. This is true in many of the more challenging majors. I cannot imagine how hard it would be to have a major that difficult and be able to take more tha… Continue

The DRL

I've been trying to work on my Style and Design project, but it's a lot of programs and code that I'm not 100% sure of. The thing is, I want to know about these programs because I feel that they will be important for my future. I don't have access to these programs that much but I found the place to go. The Digital Resource Lab in the library has many sources that are helpful for students and faculty. They have every program we need, every type of printer and there is always someone there to he… Continue

Going to the Chapel.....

In 1972 my mom and dad got married. My mom was 17 and my dad, 20. In today's society, it is almost unheard of for people to get married at such a young age. Today, couple's wait much longer to be married than our parents did. People look to be more settled in their lives and careers. They want to finish college. They want to be more financially and emotionally stable than they are even in their early to mid twenties. The average age now to get married is between 25-30 for women. I think it is… Continue
